Story Behind the Name 'Hebri'

                                       Lake in which "Hebberi" was buried.
                     
                           The town lord of Hebri is Sri Ananthapadmanabha.This temple had a big drum which was called as 'Hebberi'(Big sized drum) in Kannada.Its been said that during the war this drum was used to make the town people alert.During the war all the temple treasury was filled in the drum and was burried in the own lake,Because of this drum only the town got the name 'Hebri'.Hebri is the new version of 'Hebberi'.Ancient name Hebberi became Hebri in the local folklore.
